Usage of 在 (zài)
Meaning: To be in the middle of doing something.
Context: Marks an action in progress right now — the equivalent of “am / is / are doing” in English.
Structure:
Subject + 在 + Verb Phrase
Note: this 在 is not the preposition “at / in”. It carries no location meaning at all here. 正在 is a slightly stronger version of the same thing.

Usage of 比 (bǐ)
Meaning: Than — used to compare two things.
Context: Puts two things side by side and says which one has more of a quality.
Structure:
A + 比 + B + Adjective
Note: never put 很 in front of the adjective in a 比 sentence — 公园比商场很安静 is wrong. To say “much more”, add 多了 after the adjective instead.
