Grammar • 语法讲解

结构:有点儿 (yǒu diǎnr) + Adj.

English: Used before an adjective to mean “a little / a bit ___.” It almost always carries a slightly negative or complaining feeling — the speaker is unhappy or unsatisfied about the situation. Do NOT confuse with 一点儿, which goes AFTER the adjective and is neutral.

有点儿小 (yǒu diǎnr xiǎo): a little (too) small
例:这件衣服有点儿小,有大号的吗? — This piece of clothing is a bit small, do you have a bigger size? (from today’s dialogue)
有点儿贵 (yǒu diǎnr guì): a bit (too) expensive
例:这家餐厅有点儿贵,我们去别的地方吧。 — This restaurant is a bit pricey, let’s go somewhere else.
有点儿累 (yǒu diǎnr lèi): a bit tired
例:今天有点儿累,我想早点儿睡。 — I’m a bit tired today, I want to go to bed early.
有点儿 vs 一点儿:
这件衣服有点儿小。 — This clothing is a bit small. (complaint — too small for me)
这件衣服小一点儿。 — This clothing is a bit smaller. (neutral comparison)
